On Sunday Mornings, our church gathers for a time of praise, preaching and prayer. We call this our worship service. It is our time of coming together, out of our busy lives, away from our mission field, our work place and our normal everyday environments. We come from many different backgrounds and families, but we come together with one voice, one heart and one mind to be with God and to be his gathered people.
You are so welcome to join with us any Sunday morning at 10 AM.
You will hear and sing songs that help you understand and experience God and hear messages from the Bible that help us discover what God wants to say to His church and to His world and even to you.
Sundays are pretty busy around here so come early, have some coffee, let us find you a seat and then visit our welcome centre, where one of our volunteers or staff will be able to answer any of your questions.
Four times a year, we celebrate with a special gathering that we call a 'Life Sunday.' This special event is a time when we make a lot of noise and joyfully tell the story about what the living God is doing in and through our church family. It's kind of like a family reunion and everyone is in on it - all but the youngest kids stay with us for the party and it's a lot of fun!
We have baptisms, hear stories of life change, learn about missional activity in our city, welcome new members to our big church family and remind ourselves why we exist. We reflect on our mission and vision and the ethos of our community.
Every group that gathers with a purpose needs to continually bring clarity to the reason for their existence. When they don't do this they end up drifting away from their original vision. A vision is a preferred picture of the future that keeps us moving forward.
Here at Faith St Thomas the vision we're striving for is to see every person in the community of Faith St. Thomas, equipped and sent on mission, in St. Thomas and beyond, seeking first his kingdom…in short we want to see Everyone Equipped, Everyone Engaged.
"We are a community of Jesus followers on mission with Good News"
Our mission is really the definition of our gathered identity or more simply put, who we are. We are seeking to be a community. We are a family. We are committing to each other and we are learning to do life together.
We are Jesus followers. We are disciples. We are learning from our Master and we are being transformed by Him.
We are people of action. As a community of Jesus followers we have a job to do and so we are seeking in all things to make Jesus and his amazing Gospel known to the world around us.
This is who we are!
Ethos isn't a word we use much in our culture but it's one we hold dear. Our ethos is our desired cultural reality. As we do life together, a community of disciples on mission with good news, we want our shared life to have a very specific cultural flavour.
We want to be leaders, influencing each other and our friends and family towards Jesus Christ.
We want to be passionate. We are asking God to set our hearts and minds on him as our highest and ultimate goal.
We are seeking to be creative, courageous and risk-taking as we share our faith with the city around us.
As we lead passionately and creatively, we are also committed to being a generous people. Our God is generous. He spared not even His own Son, but freely offered Him up for us and so we want to reflect God's generous love in the way we love our church, our city and our world.
We believe a passionate, generous, Jesus lead group of leaders can serve our community in ways that will make life in St Thomas and beyond radically better for everyone.

We believe the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God and that men were moved by the Spirit of God to write the very words of Scripture. Therefore, we believe the Bible is without error.
We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ is the second member of the Trinity (the Son of God) who became flesh to reveal God to humanity, and to become the Saviour of the lost world.
We believe that all people were created equal in the image of God to have fellowship with him, but became alienated in that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, people are incapable of regaining a right relationship with God through their own efforts.
We believe that the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sin. Therefore, God freely offers salvation to those who place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ, as sufficient payment for their sin.
We believe all Christians should live for Christ, and not for themselves. By obedience to the Word of God, and daily yielding to the Spirit of God, every believer should mature and be conformed to the image of Christ.
We believe that the church is the body of Christ, of which Jesus Christ is the head. The members of the church are those who have trusted by faith the finished work of Christ. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving him and by making him known to the lost world.
